The Black’s Fork River Lodge is the perfect vacation spot for a family vacation or gathering any time of the year for those families that live in Wyoming and Utah. The Black’s Fork River Lodge is located in western Wyoming just about an hour from the Utah/Wyoming border and is only about two hours from the Salt Lake and Ogden Valleys in Utah. It is situated just below the Uinta Mountains and has a wide variety of recreation opportunities on the property and just up the road from the lodge for families to enjoy while staying at the lodge. Here are some of our favorite recreational activities that we love on the property and nearby.
During the winter and early spring months the snowmobiling just above the lodge is some of the best in the western United States and is unspoiled. There are trails that go into the beautiful Uinta Mountains from the Meeks Cabin Trailhead just up the road from the lodge and snowmobiling families can get into endless meadows of fresh powder and see very few other snowmobiles while they explore the highest mountain range in Utah and snowmobile through the greatest snow on earth!
During the summer and fall the private pool and hot tub on the property is a favorite spot for families to play and relax. The large swimming pool is great for cooling down and playing in the water during the hot afternoons and the huge hot tub is amazing for relaxing and looking at the stars at night. The kitchen pavilion in the pool area is great for preparing meals and snacks and serving food to your entire group while you play in the pool all day long.
Those families that like adventure will love to ride the trails in the Uinta Mountains above the lodge in the summer and fall months. These dirt roads and trails are perfect for riding ATVs and side by sides and exploring the gorgeous Uinta Mountains especially in late September and October when the fall colors are in full display.
Family vacations that like to relax and play games around the lodge will find plenty of activities on the property. The volleyball court, basketball, fishing and canoeing pond, pickleball court, and river are all perfect for families that want to relax on the property and enjoy playing games together.
