Wyoming is a beautiful state with tons of outdoor recreation. The Black’s Fork River Lodge in western Wyoming is an amazing family vacation lodge for families to gather and enjoy the beautiful scenery and outdoor recreation Wyoming has to offer. Family groups staying at Black’s Fork River Lodge have many opportunities to enjoy the beautiful state of Wyoming both on the lodge property and nearby. Families will love this amazing area. Here are some great areas nearby the lodge that we enjoy, and we think your family will really love also.

The Uinta Mountains are just above the Black’s Fork River Lodge. The north slope of the Uinta Mountains is on the border of Wyoming and Utah. The Meeks Cabin Reservoir is just up the road from the lodge about 15 to 20 minutes and is a great place to access the Uinta Mountains. The reservoir and other nearby lakes are great for fishing, swimming, and seeing beautiful mountains in the summer and fall. There are also many dirt roads going up into the Uinta Mountains from Meeks Cabin Reservoir for riding jeeps and ATVs. This is a beautiful area to explore with your family.

The Henry’s Fork Trailhead into the Uinta Mountains is just a short drive from the Black’s Fork River Lodge. This trailhead is the main trail that goes to Utah’s highest peak named King’s Peak. Families can hike on this beautiful trail for a short or a long hike and enjoy this magnificent country. There are several high mountain lakes on this trail that families can fish or take a relaxing swim. This area is especially spectacular in the fall to see amazing fall colors.

On the lodge property the Black’s Fork River runs right through the property and families can enjoy the beautiful scenery right from the back deck of the lodge. The river runs just behind the lodge and evenings out on the deck are magical as deer, moose, and other animals come down to the river to drink and the sunsets are spectacular.

We hope to see your family soon at Black’s Fork River Lodge for a Wyoming family vacation!
