December is a magical time at Black’s Fork River Lodge. The snow falls gently around the property and the river flows soothingly behind the lodge. The deer, elk, and moose pass through the property in the mornings and evenings feeding on the grass and shrubs as they move up and down the river. It truly is a winter wonderland at Black’s Fork River Lodge. In this blog we will share a few of our favorite things about the winter season at Black’s Fork River Lodge.

Probably our favorite part about the winter at Black’s Fork River Lodge is watching Utah families gather for Christmas parties and enjoy time together. Throughout the month of December, it is wonderful to watch families from Utah and Wyoming gather at the lodge and enjoy time together celebrating Christmas, eat delicious food, and play in the snow. It is the perfect setting to celebrate Christmas and gather for fun, games, and good food.

One of our favorite recreational activities in the winter months is to snowmobile in the Uinta Mountains above the lodge. Utah Christmas gatherings will often spend one day up in the beautiful Uinta Mountains snowmobiling or snowshoeing. It is a spectacular time of year to be up in the mountains enjoying the fresh air and taking in the breathtaking scenery. Family Christmas and New Years parties will find great snowmobiling throughout the winter.

Winter is a great time to see wildlife at Black’s Fork River Lodge. Wyoming and Utah families that enjoy wildlife will be able to spend time watching wildlife around the property. The Black’s Fork River just below the back deck of the lodge is one the areas that wildlife spend most of their time in the winter feeding and drinking. Families love to sit on the back deck and watch the deer, elk, and moose feed along the river.
