Winter has made an early appearance at Black’s Fork River Lodge. Early season snow has been falling the past two weeks and there is close to two feet of snow in the Uinta Mountains above the lodge. Groups will have plenty of snow for snowmobiling and playing in the snow this winter. Here are some of our favorite winter activities and winter recreation from December to March.

Family groups love to spend time at Black’s Fork River Lodge in December and January to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s. Families love the privacy and seclusion that the Black’s Fork River Lodge offers. The large lawn areas get covered in snow in the winter months and are great for playing winter games and building snowmen and snow forts. The hills around the property are great for sledding and children will love to enjoy time together playing in the snow and sledding on the property during the afternoons.

After the sun goes down families will love to spend time together relaxing in the hot tub and playing games by the warm wood-burning stove on the main floor of the lodge. Soaking in the hot tub is a great way to relax and warm up after a day of playing in the snow and the Black’s Fork River Lodge is large enough for the whole family to enjoy. The gas firepit next to the hot tub is a great spot to sit around and tell stories and laugh with families and friends.

Families will also find great winter outdoor recreation above the lodge in the Uinta Mountains. Just up the road from the Black’s Fork River Lodge is the Meek’s Cabin Trailhead to access the beautiful Uinta Mountains. This quiet trailhead is great for groups to snowmobile, snowshoe, cross country ski, and enjoy playing in the beautiful Uinta Mountains in winter.

Black’s Fork River Lodge is a beautiful winter lodge for family and friends to enjoy time away together enjoying the beautiful mountains and having peace and quiet while enjoying recreation with family and friends. We hope to see you this winter at Black’s Fork River Lodge for some winter recreation!
