Autumn is just around the corner in western Wyoming. September and October are amazing months in the Uinta Mountains above Black’s Fork River Lodge. The autumn colors are spectacular, the air is crisp and refreshing, and the deer and elk are active and fun to watch. We love this time of year.

On the property guests love to fish on the river and pond, play yard games, throw horseshoes, play volleyball and basketball, relax in the hot tub, and sit on the deck and watch the beautiful waterfowl and wildlife on the river. For those families that love to ride ATVs and explore the mountains this is the perfect time of year to explore the Uinta Mountains on ATV rides. The Meek’s Cabin Trailhead is just up the road from the lodge and is the perfect spot to start a ride up into the Uinta Mountains to see amazing scenery and wildlife. Autumn is one of the most amazing times to be up in these mountains. The air is crisp, cool, and refreshing this time of year and is just the thing to make you feel alive on the weekends after a long week of work. The fall colors are spectacular, and the yellow aspens are amazing to see in this area. Those families that love to see wildlife will be in heaven with the elk and deer abundant in this area.
