Snowmobiling is one of our favorite activities in the winter. The Uinta Mountains are just up the road about 15 miles from the lodge. The Uinta Mountains are the highest mountain range in Utah and is one of the most beautiful national forests in the western United States. During the winter months the snow is deep, and the snowmobiling is spectacular. The Meeks Cabin Trailhead is the closest trailhead to access this beautiful country and is a remote, quiet trailhead. Most days there are only a few other people that use this trailhead, and the snowmobiling trails and meadows are quiet in this area.
Watching wildlife and fishing on the Black’s Fork River is another one of our favorite activities in the winter months. The elk, deer, moose, and waterfowl spend a great deal of time on the property during the winter. They follow the river and eat and drink along the banks of the river during the winter months. From the back deck of the lodge and the hot tub you can often spot deer or elk walking up or down the river. The river still has some great fishing in the winter and the fishermen in your group will enjoy walking the river and catching a few fish.
Relaxing in the lodge by the fireplace or soaking in the hot tub is another one of our activities on a Utah winter vacation at Black’s Fork River Lodge. During the cold winter months, a soak in the hot tub or relaxing by the wood burning fireplace feels amazing.
