Summer is here at Black’s Fork River Lodge. It is a wonderful time of year with amazing outdoor recreation for families to enjoy on the ranch and in the mountains above the ranch. Families love to gather and spend time together enjoying summer recreation, good food, and time together sharing stories. In our last blog we shared some of our favorite summer activities on the lodge property, in this blog we will share some of our favorite summer outdoor recreation for family reunions around this beautiful area and this Utah family reunion lodge.

About 15 miles above the lodge are the Uinta Mountains that run along the Wyoming/Utah border. The Uinta Mountains are the highest mountain range in Utah and are gorgeous in the summer months. There is lots of great outdoor recreation in these mountains and they are easy to access with a short drive from the lodge to two different trailheads.

Families that enjoy hiking will find hundreds of miles of hiking trails in the Uinta Mountains that take them to some of most breathtaking scenery in the western United States. Gorgeous streams, lakes, forest, and granite mountain peaks create some of the most beautiful hiking families can find in Utah and Wyoming.

Groups and reunions that enjoy water recreation will also find many great lakes and ponds to play on in the Uinta Mountains. These beautiful high mountain lakes are perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing during the summer months. A short drive from the lodge will bring families to these spectacular high mountain lakes and summer fun on the lake.

Fishing is also a great summer recreation activity for family reunions. On the Black’s Fork River Ranch there is a fishing pond and the Black’s Fork River for fishing. Families that want to do more fishing can take the short drive up to the Uinta Mountains to fish high mountain lakes and streams for cutthroat, rainbow, and brook trout that are eager to eat a fly or lure.

Reunions that enjoy ATV/OHV riding will find many dirt roads and ATV trails just up the road from the Black’s Fork River Lodge. The Uinta Mountains are full of dirt roads for exploring this beautiful country and viewing wildlife.

We hope to see your family reunion this summer at Black’s Fork River Lodge for some summer outdoor recreation!
