We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families and we hope you have a safe and happy New Year’s. The snow is piling up here at Black’s Fork River Lodge and families are having fun playing in the snow and snowmobiling in the Uinta Mountains above the property. It is a great time of year to enjoy time playing outside, exploring in the Uinta Mountains and relaxing each evening with family and friends at the Utah winter vacation lodge.

Snowmobiling is one of our favorite activities this time of year. The snowmobiling will be amazing from now until late March in the Uinta Mountains above the lodge. The Meeks Cabin Trailhead is the closest trailhead into the Uinta Mountains. It is about 10 miles up the road from the lodge and is a quiet trailhead. Most days you will not find another vehicle in the parking lot.  From this same parking lot you can cross country ski and snowshoe into the beautiful Uinta Mountains. It is a great access to enjoy the beauty and solitude of the highest mountain range in Utah in the winter months.

We also love to spend time sledding and playing in the snow during the winter months at Black’s Fork River Lodge. The property has large grass areas covered in snow in the winter for building snowmen, having a snowball fight, or making snow angels. There are also plenty of good hills around the Black’s Fork property for making a sled run. Children will also enjoy sliding on the frozen pond, ice skating, or ice fishing right next to the lodge.

When everyone gets tired and cold the warm wood-burning stove inside the lodge or the large hot tub in the pool area is a great place to warm up and relax while you drink some hot chocolate or cider.  The Black’s Fork River Lodge is just a couple of hours from the Salt Lake and Ogden areas, making it a perfect spot for a Utah winter vacation lodge.
